Welcome to TextVibe. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use and share it, and your rights in relation to it.

2. What Information We Collect
Our app is designed with a privacy-first approach. We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve our service.
Content You Submit for Analysis: When you paste text or upload a screenshot for analysis, we collect the conversation content. This is the primary data we process to provide our service.
Subscription Information: If you subscribe to TextVibe Premium, your purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive transaction confirmation and subscription status from Apple and our subscription management service, RevenueCat, which is linked to your anonymous App Store ID. We do not collect or store your payment details.
Technical Information: We do not use third-party analytics services to track you. We may rely on anonymised, aggregated analytics and crash reports provided by Apple to monitor app performance and stability.
We do not require you to create an account, and therefore we do not collect personal identifiers like your name, email address, or phone number.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide the Service: To process the conversation text you submit and return the AI-powered analysis, as is the core function of the app.
- To Manage Subscriptions: To verify your subscription status and unlock premium features.
- To Improve the App: To understand how our service is performing, fix crashes, and identify areas for improvement.
4. Our Legal Basis for Processing Data (GDPR)
We process your data based on the following legal grounds:
- Performance of a Contract: When you request an analysis, we process your submitted content to fulfill our contractual obligation to provide that service to you.
- Legitimate Interests: We have a legitimate interest in maintaining and improving our app's performance and security.
- Consent: We will ask for your explicit consent to send you promotional or reminder push notifications.
5. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell your personal data. To provide our service, we share information with a limited number of trusted third-party providers:
- AI Provider (OpenAI): The conversation content you submit for analysis is sent to OpenAI's API to generate the strategic feedback. OpenAI processes this data in accordance with their privacy policies.
- Backend Hosting (Vercel): Our secure backend function, which communicates with OpenAI, is hosted on Vercel.
- Caching & Security (Upstash): We use Upstash (a Redis provider) for caching and to operate our daily budget kill-switch. To protect your privacy, we store an anonymised, one-way hash (MD5) of your conversation text as the cache key, not the text itself. The cached analysis data is automatically deleted after 24 hours.
- Subscription Management (RevenueCat & Apple): Subscription status and purchase tokens are managed by RevenueCat and Apple.
6. Data Retention
- Analysis Content: Conversation content sent for analysis is processed ephemerally and is not permanently stored on our servers (Vercel) or by our AI provider.
- Cached Data: Anonymised analysis results may be cached for up to 24 hours on our Upstash database to improve performance and control costs, after which they are automatically deleted.
- Saved Chats: If you use the "Save Chat" feature, the conversation and its analysis are stored only on your local device using Apple's secure SwiftData framework. This data is private to you and is deleted if you uninstall the app.
7. International Data Transfers
To provide our service, your data may be processed in countries outside of the UK and European Economic Area (EEA), such as the United States, where our third-party service providers (OpenAI, Vercel, Upstash) operate. We rely on appropriate legal safeguards, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure your data is protected.
8. Your Data Protection Rights
Under GDPR, you have several rights regarding your personal data, including:
- The right to access: You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- The right to rectification: You can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- The right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"): You can ask us to delete your personal information.
- The right to restrict processing: You can ask us to limit the use of your personal information.
- The right to data portability: You can ask for your data in a machine-readable format.
- The right to object: You can object to us processing your personal information.

9. Children's Privacy
TextVibe is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
